Last Modified:

Live tracking map, satellite images and forecasts of Tropical Cyclone Seru 2025 near Vanuatu in the South Pacific Ocean. Current wind speed 100km/h.
Seru is located 298 km southeast of Port Vila, Vanuatu, and has tracked south-southwestward at 20 km/h (11 knots) over the past 6 hours. Maximum significant wave height is 8.5 meters (28 feet).
Seru will move southeastward then eastward under the steering influence of the subtropical ridge to the east.
The favorable environment will become marginal as wind shear increases, sustaining the intensity up to 24 hours. Afterward, the environment will become unfavorable with a further increase in wind shear, in addition to cooling sea surface temperatures, gradually eroding the system to dissipation in 4 days.
The available numerical models are in tight agreement with a spread to 152 km in 3 days then more erratically and widely to 619 km in 5 days, lending medium confidence to the near- to mid-term portion, then low confidence to the extended portion of the JTWC track forecast.
There is also medium to low confidence in the intensity forecasts to the respective portions of the JTWC forecast track.
Notable left-of-track outliers include UKMET, ECMWF, and AEMN that recurve the vortex equatorward after 3 days.
