Extratropical Peipah

Live tracking map, satellite images and forecasts of Extratropical Cyclone Peipah 2025 (台風15号) in the western Pacific Ocean. Current wind speed 100km/h. Max 95km/h.

Peipah is located 291 km east of Yokosuka, Japan, and has tracked east-northeastward at 56 km/h (30 knots) over the past 6 hours. Minimum central pressure at 05/12:00 UTC is 990 hPa. Maximum significant wave height is 7.3 meters (24 feet).

Peipah is currently transitioning into a storm-force extratropical cyclone with a developing frontal feature extending southward from the system.

A major shortwave trough is currently directly to the north of the system, imparting increased wind shear and thermal advection. A MetOp-C ASCAT image revealed a highly elongated circulation with a swath of 85 km/h (45 knots) confined to the southern edge.

Peipah is forecast to track generally eastward over the next 24 hours with extratropical transition expected to complete within the next 12 hours.

This is the final warning on this system by JTWC. The system will be closely monitored for signs of regeneration.
