Live tracking map, satellite images and forecasts of Tropical Storm Fengshen 2025 (台風24号) near Vietnam. Current wind speed 85km/h. Max 95km/h.
Fengshen (Philippine name Ramil) is located 396 km east-northeast of Da Nang, Vietnam, and has tracked southwestward at 2 km/h (1 knot) over the past 6 hours. Maximum significant wave height is 6.1 meters (20 feet).
Fengshen will maintain a west-southwestward trajectory through landfall near da Nang, Vietnam before 36 hours.
The environment in the South China Sea will become increasingly inhospitable over the next 24 hours due to the drier air advection southwestward by the cold surge and increasing wind shear. As a result of the worsening environment, Fengshen will quickly weaken to a weak tropical depression at landfall, with dissipation expected imminently after landfall.
Deterministic model track guidance is in good agreement that Fengshen will move west-southwestward for the duration of the forecast period. However, some models disagree on track speed while Fengshen is over land, resulting in a significant along-track spread in 36 to 48 hours.
Due to the along-track spread in guidance, the JTWC track forecast lies with the bulk of consensus members with overall medium confidence. JTWC intensity guidance is in strong agreement that Fengshen will quickly dissipate, with all models signaling dissipation in 36 to 48 hours. As a result, the JTWC intensity forecast is placed with high confidence.
