Tropical Cyclone Eva 2022
Last Modified:
Satellite images, weather maps and tracks of Category 1 Tropical Cyclone Eva 2022, February 26 - March 4. Max wind speed 70km/h.
Eva is located 976 km east-southeast of Noumea, New Caledonia, and has moved southwestward at 7 km/h (4 knots) over the past 6 hours.
Eva will continue on its current track under the steering subtropical ridge. The marginal environment will further deteriorate as wind shear increases and low level cold dry air influx persists, leading to dissipation in 24 hours, likely sooner.
Forecast guidance are in very good agreement; however, given the weakness of the shallow steering subtropical ridge, and the possible earlier dissipation of the cyclone, there is overall medium confidence in the JTWC track and intensity forecasts.
Maximum significant wave height is 3.7 meters (12 feet).
