At 100 AM CDT (06:00 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Edouard was located by Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft near latitude 28.8 North, longitude 92.5 West. Edouard is moving toward the west-northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h). A west-northwestward to northwestward motion is forecast during the next day or two. On the forecast track, the center of Edouard is predicted to reach the northwestern Gulf Coast within the warning area later today and move inland over southeast Texas tonight.
Maximum sustained winds remain near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast and Edouard could approach hurricane strength before it reaches the northwest Gulf coast later today. Rapid weakening is expected after the center moves inland.
Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km) from the center.
The minimum central pressure estimated by reconnaissance dropsonde data is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).
