Invest 94W
Last Modified:
Live tracking map, satellite, radar, and forecasts of Invest 94W east of Luzon in the Philippines. Medium chance of development. Current wind speed 35km/h.
Maximum sustained surface winds are around 30–35 km/h (15–20 knots). Minimum sea-level pressure is estimated to be near 1005 hPa.
Infrared imagery shows deep convection associated with a mid-level circulation displaced southwest of the slowly consolidating low-level circulation center.
Analysis for the area shows favorable conditions for development with warm sea surface temperatures (29–30°C), low wind shear (10–15 knots), and good equatorward outflow aloft.
The ECMWF deterministic model shows gradual development of 94W into a tropical depression or weak tropical storm over the next 36 hours. The ECENS and DeepMind ensembles concur on a slow to quasi-stationary motion near southern Luzon and possible interaction with Dolphin in a couple of days.
